The Grumpy X Repeater
A new repeater we have been designing in the lab, the
"X"
repeater will be a
"cross"
between the Grumpy King Repeater and the Heltec V4 radio.
Introducing the Grumpy X
The Grumpy X was designed to give us the best of both worlds. It bridges the gap between the Grumpy King and Grumpy Jr while giving us a flexible platform that can evolve as the GrumpyMesh lineup grows.
- Interchangeable board design — the internal board can be swapped so a Grumpy Board can be added later.
- Heltec V4 to start — the initial configuration will use a Heltec V4 to help keep the price lower and provide an option when the Grumpy Board is not available.
- Over 16,000 mAh of battery capacity — built around 21700 batteries and includes a Waveshare MPPT solar controller for extended off-grid operation.
- Works with Meshtastic as well as MeshCore
- Built for flexibility — the design allows the repeater platform to grow with future GrumpyMesh hardware.
